O.C.O Technology
607.5kWp Solar PV System cutting electricity costs and carbon for a long-standing BeBa partner
About O.C.O Technology.
O.C.O Technology has developed a Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) process that treats and stabilises thermal residues, turning them into sustainable construction products such as carbon neutral aggregate. Built on more than 20 years of award-winning research into Accelerated Carbonation Technology, the company is ranked among the world’s leading businesses for permanent carbon capture in a commercialised process, and is believed to be the only company in the world producing an aggregate that is truly carbon negative.
O.C.O is an existing BeBa Energy client, and one we have built a genuinely strong relationship with over time.
Client:
O.C.O Technology, East Wretham, Norfolk
Sector:
Carbon Capture & Sustainable Construction Products / Waste Treatment
System:
607.5kWp solar PV array, 1,320 x JA 455 panels
The challenge.
O.C.O Technology were expanding an already large, electricity-dependent site with a new build shed. With operational costs rising alongside that expansion, O.C.O needed a way to bring overall electricity costs down without adding further complexity to the build.
The solution.
BeBa Energy identified the new build shed’s roof as the ideal opportunity: otherwise unused space that could be put to work reducing the site’s overall running costs. The result was a 607.5kWp solar PV system, made up of 1,320 x JA 455 panels, installed across the new roof to offset the site’s high electricity demand.
Panels installed
1,302 x JA 455
The results.
The completed system delivers a 24% reduction in electricity costs alongside a carbon reduction of 89,479kg CO2 per year, with an anticipated output of 547,216kWh annually and a 60% solar utilisation rate.
“Working with BeBa Energy has been an excellent experience from start to finish. Their team took the time to understand our site, our operational requirements, and our long-term energy objectives before developing a solution that was both technically robust and commercially viable.
Throughout the project, communication was clear, timelines were well managed, and the installation was delivered with minimal disruption to our operations. It was evident that the BeBa team takes great pride in the quality of their work and genuinely cares about delivering the right outcome for their clients.
What sets BeBa Energy apart is their technical expertise combined with a practical, honest approach. We always felt confident that the recommendations being made were in our best interests rather than simply maximising project value.
I would have no hesitation in recommending BeBa Energy to any business considering investing in commercial solar. They have proven to be a knowledgeable, reliable and professional partner throughout the entire process.“
Paul Barber, O.C.O Technology
“Our relationship with O.C.O Technology has grown into a genuine partnership built on trust, transparency and a shared commitment to delivering long-term value. From the very beginning, they’ve been a pleasure to work with — they’re proactive, collaborative and always focused on achieving the best outcome for the project.
The successful delivery of the new 600kWp solar PV system is another fantastic milestone in that partnership. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the project progress from the initial concept through to commissioning, and we’re proud to have delivered a system that will help O.C.O reduce its energy costs, lower its carbon emissions and strengthen its energy resilience for many years to come.
At BeBa Energy, we value relationships just as much as the technology we install. Working with organisations like O.C.O Technology, who share our long-term outlook and commitment to sustainability, enables us to deliver projects that make a real difference. We look forward to continuing to support O.C.O with their renewable energy journey and building on the strong relationship we’ve developed over the years.”
