Far beyond the financial benefit

Completed in January 2022, this 162-panel, ground-mounted, system was developed and installed at Knepp’s brand new Wild Range facility.

No stranger to solar, Knepp Estate were keen to use some of their land to ensure their operations were powered in the cleanest way possible.

Covering less than 300m2, Knepp’s solar array will produce enough power to run 37 2-bedroom homes, and reduce their carbon emissions by over 17,000kgs per year, the same as taking 1.8million car miles off the road.

‘’Knepp’s desire for solar to form part of this development was fairly unique.

When solar forms part of a new build/refurbishment, it’s not uncommon for it to sit on the periphery. With Knepp, however, solar was as important to them as everything else.

It’s would be easy to say that the decision to install solar is an economic no-brainer now but this project was developed and committed-to long before the energy price crisis.

For Knepp, this project went far beyond the financials.‘’
